زمینه و هدف: امروزه مشارکت مردان در مراقبت‌ های دوران بارداری، جهت کاهش مرگ و میر و ارتقای سلامت مادران و کودکان مورد تأکید نهادهای بین المللی است. هدف از مطالعه حاضر، مروری بر ابعاد مختلف مشارکت مردان در مراقبت ‌های دوران بارداری بود.
روش بررسی: در این مطالعه مروری کلیه مقالات چاپ شده در بازه زمانی 2016-2005 به دو زبان فارسی و انگلیسی دارای متن کامل از طریق پایگاه‌های داده‌ایSID, Medlib, Magiran, Iran Medex ، google scholar, Pubmed, با کلید واژه ‌های مردان و توانمندسازی زنان با مراقبت‌های بارداری و معادل انگلیسی Women's Empowerment ،Men and prenatal care مورد جستجو قرار گرفتند. پس از بررسی اولیه و جستجو بر اساس فهرست منابع در مجموع 7 مقاله فارسی و 28 مقاله انگلیسی وارد مطالعه شدند.
یافته ها: بررسی‌ ها نشان داد که مشارکت مردان در مراقبت ‌های دوران بارداری اثرات مثبتی بر پیامد مادر و کودک داشته و افزایش انتظارات زنان و هسته‌ای شدن خانواده‌ ها از دلایل لزوم مشارکت مردان ذکر شده اما با وجود نگرش مثبت زوجین به مشارکت مردان، موانعی مانند عدم آگاهی مردان و نقش تعریف نشده آن ها در مورد مراقبت ‌های بارداری، مسائل اقتصادی، فرهنگی و مشکلات مربوط به سیستم بهداشتی سد راه مردان جهت همکاری در مراقبت‌ های دوران بارداری می‌باشند.
نتیجه گیری: با توجه به نقش غالب مردان در عرصه ‌های مختلف زندگی زنان و اثرات مثبت مشارکت آن ها در بهداشت باروری زنان، جهت آشناسازی مردان با جنبه‌ های مختلف باروری بایستی از راهکارهای ترویج مشارکت مردان استفاده نمود لذا نیاز به تحقیقات بیشتر در این زمینه ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
